If are looking for high quality food in comfy friendly environs you can’t go past this little restaurant. Have a look
Chinatown

Watched Jack Nicholson at his Film Noir best on the weekend, a wonderful film. Roman Polanski’s vision and use of period buildings in this Whodunnit is quiet exception not to mention the nice little cameo as a Knife wielding thug.

Rain
April 24, 2007
I have been working in Newcastle for a week now. I am really enjoying the challenge of my new role. I cannot believe what has happened, it is Raining. It started last night with a couple of lightning bursts and some thunder and then it rained.
I do not mean the wimpy Ohhhh Ahhhhh I am trying to rain drizzle we get in Adelaide I mean Kahuna sheets of water. Wow I am so not accustomed to soo much water. I do see one problem though all the rain runs straight out to sea, not really any chance of capturing it and sending to poor old brown and shrivelled SA. Oh well wil post again soon
Newcastle
April 5, 2007
Yes it is true, I have just won a job in Newcastle, New South Wales. So I will no longer be based in Adelaide.
This was a bit of a shock but one cannot be upset with change so it may be another little while before I can post again.
Have Fun
Letters from Iwo Jima

Even having not seen the companion piece “Flag of our Fathers” I loved this film. The sepia colourisation breath life and hardship into the character. I loved the wonderful dicodomy of a failure due to cultural and national pride. The battle is lost as soon as the thoughts of the soldiers turn to the formality of the national expectation and the samurai warrior code instead of what is required for them to be victorious in the facve of overwhelming numbers . A great exposition. Thanks to all who were involved in this film
YouTube the Teacher for PhotoShop
February 20, 2007
For anyone who is interested in learning Photoshop, YouTube (and other video sites) can be a good source of free learning that you might not have thought of.
Both YouTube and MetaCafe have a lot of photoshop video tutorials and while not all are the best quality video, the ability to see techniques in action with video is great for quick learning.
Here are just a few of the video Photoshop tutorials unearthed in You Tube and a few from MetaCafe as well.
The foldable Car
February 20, 2007
Researchers at MIT are building a prototype of a lightweight electric vehicle that can be cheaply mass-produced, rented by commuters under a shared-use business model, and folded and stacked like grocery carts at subway stations or other central sites. It’s called the City Car, and the key to the concept lies in the design of its wheels. The MIT team has transformed the lowly wheel into a robotic drive system that will power the City Car. Embedded in each of its four wheels will be an electric motor, steering and braking mechanisms, suspension, and digital controls, all integrated into sealed units that can be snapped on and off. : (quote from TreeHugger.com)
